The great earring dilemma

I went to Facebook to begin writing about this and decided I needed to blog it! 🤷🏻‍♀️ I am no writer! In the past I’ve used blogs to document things that have gone on in our family and for memories and keepsakes. Today I’m feeling pulled back here.
This past week has been homecoming at both my kids schools. Yesterday morning began as usual, me half asleep and my kids getting ready to begin their day. Jaxen came downstairs first. “Mom, can you help me with my hair?” It was dress for success at the high school. Jennalee followed him shortly after “mom, I think my earring fell out overnight during my sleep.” Ok Jennalee just go grab another one to put in. We were just hitting the 3 week mark on her having a second piercing done. I try to help her put the earring in and she yells ouch and the earring will not go in! So, I looked at the back of her ear. Insert panic here. There to my surprise was 2 earring posts and backs! Where on earth was the front of the other earring? Only 1 was visible from the front. My first thought ...Oh my God it’s stuck inside her ear. This is not an at home job! We will need a Dr. Jaxen heads on off to school and I’m trying to make a decision! So about a few minutes before 8 am I get the pediatricians office on the phone. I explain the situation followed by the question...can y’all help her? We will need to go to the ER because if it needs to be cut out, well then that’s where she needs to be. So we check into the ER at 8am

Where is the front of  this earring?

So we wait.  X-Ray comes to get her. We're trying to determine where is this stud? Y'all her ear swallowed that stud! I have never experienced this or heard of this happening. The nurse finally comes in with a numbing spray. They wiggle the back of the post and she's in pain and it's stuck. So the NP asks me has she ever had stitches? No she hasnt. So now he's gonna inject something like lidocaine. He gets her ear real numb.

He gets a good grip on the back of the post and front of her ear and begins wiggling and trying to move it around. She's crying because well, it hurts. All a sudden the whole earring pops out the front of the piercing. Insert my  facepalm here! Her ear swallowed the whole  damn stud. Never ever! But thank God it was out!

So mama's check the piercing! This happened in sleep overnight so there wasn't much I could've done! And I'll end this with the text I sent out to close family in a text yesterday. I couldn't make this stuff up if I tried! On a side note YouTube embedded earrings!
